TV presenter, Radio DJ and Socialite Bonang Matheba celebrated her 25th birthday party at Taboo night club in Sandton on Saturday. Knowing Bonang for the party girl she is, I expected a great time and tons of fun. The party started at 10 o’clock which was a bit awkward for me since I normally turn in around that time, nonetheless Bonang finally arrived at 12 o’clock. On her arrival Miss B was carried in on a chair by tall, dark and handsome guys who were dressed like Zulu warriors. The crowd came flocking towards her to take shots. She wore a gorgeous white chiffon dress with diamante detail, silver shoes and a diamante tiara. The dress code was black and gold, it was quite impressive to see most guests followed the dress code however those who didn’t looked just as good. Media personalities, family, friends and fans came in their numbers to celebrate the memorable occasion.
The DJ line up also didn’t disappoint as it featured some of Mzansi’s finest DJ Sbu, DJ Zinhle, Sizwe Dhlomo, Shimza and DJ Naked. We were also treated to a live performance by Pro. Spotted a lot of media personalities such Lorna Maseko of Top Billing who was also MC for the night. Thembi Seete looking wearing a sexy blue metallic ensemble , David Kau, Soul Jock and his crew, Lupi Ncayisa, Lalla from Vuzu, Thula Sindi and Boitumelo Thulo. Bonang’s mom also looked stunning in a black and gold. Pity I missed her Glam Squad though, Nthato Mashishi and Gert Johan – Cotzee. Perhaps it was way too packed to spot more familiar faces. The dance floor was blazing till the wee hours of the morning, thanks to the fabulous line up. I had such a blast, so glad I decided to leave my couch.
