Last week Friday myself and a couple of ladies from different publications were invited to attend Clinique’s new high tech innovation launch. The launch was held at Woodlands shopping centre east of Pretoria. We were asked to meet at the Intercontinental Hotel in Sandton where we will find a shuttle that will take us to Pretoria. On our arrival we were given two goodie bags, one of the goodie bags had Clinique’s new clutch bag by Gavin Rajah, I know most ladies couldn’t wait to get their hands on those beauties since they got launched. When I received the invitation I wasn’t really sure what to make of it because the invitation didn’t give too much details about the product so I decided to attend to see what it was all about.
Clinique was introducing the Apple iPad Skin Diagnostic Tool. This skin diagnostic application is very quick and easy to use. The application is also great because it enables consumers to do their own skin analysis in store just by a click of a button. South Africa is one of the five countries in the world to have this application. This innovation was created three years ago and it is available only at selected stores, Edgars store in Woodlands shopping centre being one of them.
I had a great pleasure of exploring this app , let me take you through how it works. It is in a form of a quiz and it only takes 90 seconds to complete. Firstly, you are asked about your skin concerns which could range from acne, redness, sensitive skin and blemishes. Second step of the quiz you are asked about your skin type (oily, dry or combination), third step asks about your age group and sleeping patterns. From the lists of questions it is then determined what products you should use to help with your skin concern. Once your are finished with the quiz, you are requested to enter your email address where your results will be sent then a receipt is printed out. I must say being a self confessed technophobe I really enjoyed using this app.
Getting my make up done by Clinique consultant
After getting my results I then went for a one on one consultation about skin care and products I can use for my skin. Clinique consultants were kind enough to pamper me and get my make up done. Everyone had a great time chatting over some bubbly, cheese, crackers and fresh fruit. Thanks to the Clinique cosmetics team for making it all possible.
Looking all pretty, thanks to clinique!
