While everyone was having a debate on Twitter about whether we should be celebrating the 24th of September as Heritage day and not National Braai Day, I decided to drive down to the Vaal for the 1st Annual DJ Speedsta Boat Cruise. I know, they got a different area code, I even had to go through a tollgate to get to the Emerald Casino but besides keeping my promise to be there, I had to get some work done for my other hustle. 20 year DJ Speedsta had organised a cruise for his friends before likers of things asked him to make tickets available so they could come along and enjoy literally the last free holiday of this year (I pity those that have to work after 16th December).

The Boat proceedings started on “african time” as expected but it didn’t take long for the music to get going while we cruised around the Vaal River. At this point you may be asking yourself, where were we going? To answer that, nowhere really, we cruised from one side of the river to the other while other boats took time to sit and admire us dancing to DJ’ing skills from the likes of Ms Cosmo, Twins On Decks, DJ Fubz and DJ Milkshake. We even got to chow some Prego Rolls while watching some show boating on the side. I now know were to get a holiday home all thanks to this “Shot-Left” experience although living in the Vaal would prove quite an adjustment for me. Here’s who was on board:
DJ Milkshake
Ms Cosmo
Cosy Hulisani Ravele with Psyfo
Twins On Decks – Ryan & Darren
Singer Bucie & a honey
YFM’s Tumi Voster
