SABC1′s biggest music show Live held auditions for a new presenter. Thousands of hopefuls from all over South Africa took a chance to became the next Live presenter but it only came to one Port Elizabeth born Luthando ‘Lootlove’ Shosha! This tall beauty is a force to be reckoned with and she is as driven and motivated as they come! Jucy Africa caught up with this young lady and picked her brain on what she is all about! This is a Jucy exclusive!
JUCY AFRICA: Luthando…welcome to Jucy Africa.
Luthado: Thank YOU!
JA: To someone who doesn’t know you, who would you say is Luthando?
Luthando: LootLove is Luthando. Chilled. Tomboyish. Light hearted being.
JA: From PE to our screens! Take us through the Live presenter search process?
Luthando: Aaah man! That process was the craziest and coolest time of my life! From the 1st audition to being in the top 14, then top 4 and co-hosting the show with B* to top two and co-hosting again, to finally winning! Best times!
JA: When you entered the competition, did you have any idea you would be the chosen one?
Luthando: Had no idea! None. I honestly didn’t think I’d actually win!
JA: What did you do before joining Live?
Luthando: I was a radio presenter at Kingfisher FM and a TV presenter at a community station in P.E called Bay tv.
JA: How are you finding stardom?
Luthando: Weird! Its like being in big brother, except this is actually your life.
JA: How is it like working with Bonang?
Luthando: Its superb! She’s a lot of fun.
JA: What motivates you?
Luthando: A lot of different things. But mainly the goals I’ve set for myself and the people that matter, people I want to be proud of me.
JA: What are the perks of being in the limelight?
Luthando: Better service if they recognize you.
JA: What are the lows to it?
Luthando: Everyone having an opinion bout you and your life when they don’t actually know you and what you’re about.
JA: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Luthando: In the exact place God plans for me to be.
JA: What is the biggest misconception about you?
Luthando: I keep to myself a lot, and that can be perceived as me being stuck up
JA: What else do you do now besides being on our screens every Friday night?
Luthando: Nothing right now, except for interviews, shoots etc. Planning to go back into radio soon.
JA: Do people act differently towards you now that you are in the public eye?
Luthando: To a certain extent yes, but my friends don’t, which I appreciate.
JA: You have a gorgeous body, do you work out?
Luthando: Hardly! Haha, oh, thank you.
JA: If you were not an entertainer what would you be doing?
Luthando: I’d be an interior designer living in NYC.
JA: In an industry of weaves, egos and drama, what makes you stand out and how would you like to be remembered?
Luthando: I just want to be remembered as me. Someone who was never afraid to be herself despite the world trying hard to change me.
JA: We like you and we think you are Jucy, which three Africans do you think are as Jucy and should be known to the world?
Luthando: 1st, and I think she’s already known is Jo-anne strauss! My best friend Siya Mtshemla! Definitely one of the most amazing beings on this earth! And lastly a lady called Star Khulu. All these ladies are inspirational. Full of life. Hard working and inspire me, daily.
JA: How do you deal with negativity?
Luthando: I ignore it or just vent about it, but when I’m done I move on.
JA: Is Luthando seeing anyone?
Luthando: (laughs) yes I am and happily so.
JA: Are you happy with the state in which our country is in right now, especially where women are concerned?
Luthando: If stereotypes could be removed, I’d be one of the happiest. The day we start looking beyond the “male/female” barrier… Our world will be a much better place.
JA: Which three hot spots in your city do you want everyone to know about?
Luthando: Neighbourgoods market! Jacobs coffee game shop (its a pop up shop though) and Wolves an awesome restaurant on Corlett drive
JA: What is your favourite music?
Luthando: A lot of different genre’s but Hip hop stays winning.
JA: Mack, Marry of Flush 1. Siyabonga Ngwekazi 2. Mo.Flava 3. Mario Ogle
Luthando: Lol… Uhm. Mack on Mo Flava. Marry Siya and flush Mario.
JA: What is your favourite food?
Luthando: Hmmmm… Depends. Moms food! Miss it a lot now that I’m away from home!

Luthando: None

JA: What are your thoughts on South Africa’s celeb scene?
Luthando: Have no thoughts! except that its interesting to experience it from the other side of the fence.
