As you may all know, The Wild Actor Ty Keogh walked away with yet another title this Monday after being named GQ Magazine’s Best Dressed Man for 2012. Artist Khaya “Bhubesii” Sibiya came second while Capetonian musician, Chad Saaiman rounded off the Top 3. This year’s Top 10 list included the likes of Zakes Bantwini and the tripe loving T-Bo Touch amongst a few business people plus a representative in the form of an Olympic Gold medalist, Cameron van der Burgh.
The award ceremony, just like last year, was held at The Westcliff Hotel, same venue, same setup just a different list. Radio station YFM also had a live broadcast last year while some of their YTKO DJ’s entertained us on the dance floor. With free alcohol flowing courtesy of Jameson and pretty faces surrounding us, one could say it was a perfect setup for an awesome night. Apart from the goodie bag, nothing seemed to disappoint the ceremony hosted by Hlelo Masina and Mmaps Maponyane, who is last year’s runner-up. The ceremony only began after 9 despite the invite being for 7:30 but it went by quicker than a quickie as we were done in less than 10 min and it was back to the socializing bits while indulging in our choice of beverages.
To think I nearly missed this day after my late RSVP was turned down, the one thing I was looking forward to was the Calvin Klein underwear and a Sunglass Hut voucher in the goodie bag. Pity this year’s prezzies for the attendees left me a little disappointed , but as always those guys know how to party and get people to dress up.
