Last Thursday night, I got an invitation to the official launch party of the “Oh Ship” cruise ship initiative by DJ Fresh and Euphonik. The pair teamed up with a few sponsors to come up with a 3-night non-stop party cruise from Capetown to Mossel Bay from the 7th to the 10th December this year. Besides Micasa and Goldfish on board, passengers will have the opportunity to choose which other acts they would like to see on board via the “Oh Ship” social networks.

After cancellation of “Rock The Boat” this year, one would have thought people would jump at the “Oh Ship” opportunity but this doesn’t seem to be the case. I’ve heard very little talk about people planning to get on this boat, unless people are still recovering financially from the Durban July. The launch party which was held at club Eden in Rivonia also didn’t seem to attract a lot of people, I mean if one can get a drink in 2min from the bar then you know it’s a slow night. Dance floors were also empty with the exception of people that seemed like regulars at the club and a few girls who had scored themselves free booze from the VIP tables. Such a pity I have been on an alcohol diet *deep sigh*. I spotted a few personalities who had obviously came to support their home boys but by the time I left only Euphonza was present at the party. So guys, how about a free cabin daar so?
