The Youngsters book launch

The Youngsters book launch

Picador has partnered with popular young South Africans to write a series of booklets on what it is like being a young South African living n 2012. The books are written by Anele Mdoda, Shaka Sisulu, Danny K, Nik Rabinowitz and Khaya Dlanga. The launch took place at the Protea Court in Sandton City. Joburg’s young intelligentsia, twitter folk and cool kids came out to play. Here’s who was there:

Melanie and Zwai Bala with Danny Koppel and his model lawyer wife Lisa:

Side note: how awesome is it that Danny K’s wife is that hot and smart? Properly awesome. Anyway, Danny’s book is called ‘Take it from me’ and in it he shares lessons from the music industry and what it takes to be a “post apartheid struggle artist in South Africa”

Tv Presenter Khanyisa looked gorgeous in orange:

Metro Fm Dj and this month’s True Love cover girl Azania looked beautiful and dignified as usual:

I’m almost finished reading Anele’s book. It’s hilarious. In it she talks about her mom who sounds amazing, and shares lessons on how to get into radio with a few funny emails and tweets thrown in there. You feel like you are chatting with an old friend as you read it. You should totally buy it.

Anele:

Actresses Tango Ncetezo and Bubu Mazibuko:

Shaka looking deep and intellectual as he signs copies of his book:

Shaka’s book is called ‘Becoming’ and it details how he became who he is today and lessons on how he got there.

Khaya:

Khaya’s book is called ‘In my arrogant opinion’ and he shares  thoughts on issues from towning to apartheid.

The Youngsters books sell for R88 in Exclusive books stores.
